COMMON BEHAVIOURAL PROBLEMS INDICATING POOR SADDLE PERFORMANCE
- reluctance or inability to achieve medium/extended paces
- reluctance or inability to achieve lateral work
- reluctance or inability to go forward
- behavioural problems under saddle i.e. rearing, bucking, napping, bolting
- putting back up when saddle put on/girthed up or when mounting
- refusing jumps
- taking top pole off by "dangling" front legs
- looking "short" on one or both front legs
- "grunting" during particular movements i.e. on landing after jump or during flying changes
